When I installed a smart thermostat, I didn’t need to micromanage my thermostat nearly as much! The smart thermostat was known for programming itself based on your temperature preferences and patterns, once it picked up on my settings, I rarely needed to adjust anything, wIth this in mind, you’ll understand why I don’t pay attention to the temperature of my home entirely often! My Smart thermostat will alert me of any concerns with my heat and air patterns, so if I don’t receive anything from the thermostat, I don’t worry about it.
The other day though, I could tell that something was off, then after a long day of running errands, I expected to walk into a comfortable home. What I walked into though, was anything however comfortable. The air felt abnormally cold, and it wasn’t because my body was having a taxing time increasing from the outside heat. After I put away my things, I started noticing that my fingers and toes were frozen! A comfortable home doesn’t include frozen toes and fingers, which is when I finally decided to look at the thermostat. When I tapped on the touch screen, I saw that it had been set to 68 degrees! I was used to my indoor temperature being around 72 or 72 degrees, so 68 degrees was entirely low for my liking. To this day, I’m not sure how the temperature got so low, however I’m glad I caught it sooner rather than later, and cooling an entire home to 68 degrees was inefficient.
