Ductless Mini Split System In Basement For Heat

When I was trying to decide where I wanted to go for college, I found myself stressing over majors and which universities offered the right classes and how much money it was going to cost me.

When my parents realized the toll that it was taking on me, they sat me down and told me that I could live at home while attending the local community college.

They even told me that I could move into the converted basement that was a mini apartment. I thought this was a great idea, so I happily moved downstairs. Everything started off great, until I realized how cold it got down there during the winter months. The basement was technically connected to the central HVAC plan, but it never warmed up the same. There wasn’t a second zone control for the basement, which meant that no matter how high I set the thermostat, the basement was never warm enough. I complained and complained to my parents about the temperature, but they didn’t have any solution. This is when I began doing my own research. I contemplated getting a portable heater, but I read that they were only good at heating a small radius around it. I also didn’t love how dangerous they were if left unattended. Then, I finally discovered the ductless mini split system. It could be mounted on the wall and it ran off of electricity, which meant that it wouldn’t affect the central HVAC plan. It was more consistent and not nearly as dangerous as the space heater. The ductless mini split system was an easy choice.
