She’s so blinded by her own discomfort that she doesn’t know mine.
I love my task. It’s not too far from home, I get to labor with amazing shoppers, & my fellow employees are fun to be around. I can’t see myself ever leaving the company, however there is one thing that makes my time toiling in the office entirely difficult, one of my coworkers brings a portable heating system to keep at her desk… She says that she’s naturally cold & that it’s entirely tough for her to labor on the tablet when she’s cold & her fingers feel numb. I understand her discomfort with toiling in a cool environment, because our office is entirely cold. The temperature control is set to 77 degrees & the only person who has access to it is our boss. There’s one key that unlocks the clear box around it, but I don’t know the temperature has changed in months. Even though the office is cool, I don’t know it’s cool enough to need a portable heating system. The coworker who brings her portable heating system is right beside me, & all that heat makes its way to my desk, however at first, it felt good. However, after an hour, my desk feels like it’s sitting in the sun. It’s so hot & uncomfortable, however my coworker doesn’t care. She’s so blinded by her own discomfort that she doesn’t know mine. I began moving to other areas of the office to work, however then I started resenting her for making me transport when I wasn’t the one with the original problem. Instead, I’ve submitted a notice to the boss & asked her to handle the temperature situation. There has to be a compromise.
